Activities Round-up
Newcomers currently boasts eight activity clubs -- be on the lookout for updates, and think about which new activity you’d like to try this year.

If you’re passionate about (or just interested in) another activity, consider organizing a group and enjoying it with Newcomers friends. We’ll even help! Contact Julie Devine.

Bunco
Looking for a monthly night out with the gals? Bunco provides good conversation, food and drinks... oh, and a little dice-rolling in between! Don’t worry, no experience necessary. Just bring yourself, $5 for the “pot” and an appetizer or dessert to share on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. E-mail Laurie Hurst, lauriehurst@comcast.net,  for details as they’re determined.

Book Club
Do you love to read? Join our lively book group the first Thursday of every month at 7:30 p.m. The group picks books twice a year, reads one book a month and meets at a different member’s home for discussion. We may disagree about the books at times, but always agree these are nights well-spent! Contact Kristen McConnell for more information.

Food Lovers’ Frenzy
Enjoy a theme dinner in a casual group atmosphere with emphasis on fun and culinary experimentation. Meeting the second Saturday of the month, all club members are welcome to join in the fun, bring a dish to share and contribute $5 per person.  Contact Lisa Kelsey.

Fun Club
What's Fun Club all about? The evening’s activity is kept as a surprise and revealed the night of the event, so if you like surprises and a fun night out with other members of the club, please join us! The cost is $100 per couple, and friends are welcome if your spouse can’t make it. Girls’ Night Out
Can we count you in for a fabulous meal, heavy on grown-up conversation and light on cleanup? Join us for a Friday night outing every-other month. Dates and restaurants to be announced: e-mail Karin Warden for details, .

Play Groups
Are you looking for a new play group for one or more of your children? Now is your chance! Play groups are a great way to make new friends, both for you and your kids! Sunshine Club
Participating in Sunshine is a great way to help a fellow member in a time of need.  Sunshine members are called on once or twice a year to prepare a meal for a fellow member following a birth, illness, or other trying circumstances.  To participate in Sunshine, please contact Anne Reilly at aereilly@yahoo.com.

Walking Club
Need some extra exercise on Saturday morning, or simply enjoy others’ company at a walking pace? Join us Saturdays, the time has been changed to 8:00 a.m., at the fountain by the Main St. train station, downtown Downers Grove. We walk for an hour, then regroup at Caribou Coffee on Main St. If you miss the walk, still join us for coffee at Caribou! We’re mostly walkers but joggers and runners are also welcome.
